Winthrop Committee Advances Scooter Ordinance, Begins Long Council Rules Review

Winthrop Rules and Ordinance Committee unanimously recommends new scooter ordinance for full council review. The three-member committee, chaired by Chair Miller and including Councilors Romano and Dimes, voted Thursday to advance a new section 8.20.071 banning motorized scooters and electric bikes from town parks, conservation areas, natural surface trails, and sidewalks, with exceptions for permitted events, landscaping, construction, and town-manager-approved vehicles.
