REVERE — The Revere City Council voted to deny a special permit for a vehicle storage and towing business after months of noise and traffic complaints. Neighbors including Joseph McHugh and Michael Tucker said trucks, backup alarms and bright lights disrupted a residential neighborhood near York, Arcadia and Island streets; a Fire Department report on paint fumes conflicted with the owner's denial that any painting occurred. The council separately approved $17,000 for new Ward 2 trash receptacles, $14,832 for Health Department communications upgrades, and a parcel sale to resident Maria Arango.

Councilor McKenna opened a public hearing on an ordinance requiring permits to remove trees on private property, saying one cut tree left "34 feet of nothing but tree trunks." A motion urging the mayor to seek state and federal help replacing airport-noise-damaged windows in Beachmont drew extended public comment. A Nixon Peabody land-use petition was continued to October 26.
