Select Board · Meeting of September 14, 2026

REVERE — The Revere City Council denied a special permit for 128 Towing and Truck and adopted a new policy connecting future business applicants with their ward councillor. The vote followed the Zoning Subcommittee's unfavorable recommendation; Councillor Janino recused herself and the rest of the council voted against the relief. Councillor Garino-Sawaya, who sponsored the notification policy, said "the purpose of this policy is to avoid what happened with 128." Chief of Police Levita also briefed the council on license-plate camera use, reporting 27 cases solved with the technology in 2026 and saying "ICE does not have access to our data." The council separately approved a $5,000 land conveyance, a $17,000 waste-receptacle appropriation, and an emergency sick-leave-bank ordinance for employee Marcia Mendez.
