Boston ZBA Approves Three Final Arbiter Cases, Adopts Open Meeting Law Response
BOSTON — April 7, 2026 — Boston Zoning Board of Appeal cleared a routine April docket with six unanimous votes, approving modifications to three active construction projects and adopting a formal response to an open meeting law complaint. The board, meeting remotely under state provisions allowing virtual hearings through June 2027, granted 12 extension requests across properties from Blue Hill Avenue to River Street before turning to final arbiter cases. At 11 With Street, the board approved removal of a structural section from an already-approved and partially built three-family project after a contractor identified as Abram said the revision followed a city design review. At 50 to 52 Townsend Street, applicant Shayur Shayur won approval to keep two physically connected buildings on separate titles, citing mortgage requirements. A two-unit project at 7 Tip Top Street received approval to add a walkout basement and trim roughly 40 square feet from upper-floor decks. The board then unanimously adopted its legal advisor's response to an open meeting law complaint, case BOA-ERT-1240355, tied to 154 Terrace Street, without discussing the complaint's substance in open session.
