Boston commission approves $3.7 million in school, housing contracts

Boston Public Facilities Commission clears $3.7 million in school and housing contracts. Project manager Tim Colombert won approval for a $20,000 Skanska USA owner's-project-manager contract and a $495,835 Riz Frosch Trumway Engineering design contract for heat pump and roof work at Margarita Muñiz Academy and Orchard Gardens. Commissioners also approved a fourth amendment adding $25,850 to the William E.
Carter School's owner's-project-manager contract, bringing it to $3,676,300, to fund additional building-envelope testing described as mimicking "wind-driven rain." On the housing side, the commission approved an $800 conveyance of eight Roxbury parcels to Eco Homes Highland Park LLC for 20 affordable units, a transfer of Geneva Avenue land to Boston Centers for Youth and Families for a Grove Hall community center, and a $25,000 sale to Regine Foster of a Dorchester open-space parcel. Every vote passed 3-0.
