Select Board · Meeting of August 24, 2026

REVERE — The Revere City Council voted to establish a police department gift account to fund a new community outreach vehicle nicknamed the "Care Wagon." Captain Malone described the all-electric van as "an ice cream truck on steroids" that will host coffee-with-a-cop events, clothing drives and toy drives, funded entirely by public donations through a QR code rather than tax dollars. The council also approved, 10-0 with Councilor Novoselsky absent, a $127,253.15 quarterly payment to Revere TV from cable access receipts. Separately, councilors ordered a public hearing for September 28 on an ordinance requiring 24-hour notice of street closures to police and the council, after Councilor Cogliandro said members "have had quite a few road closures this year that we have not known about." Two residential special permit hearings, at 191 and 269 Revere Street, were referred to the zoning subcommittee without a vote.
