Boston PFC Approves School Window Contracts and Two Housing Transactions

BOSTON — January 28, 2026 — Boston's Public Facilities Commission approved more than $1 million in school repair contract amendments and two housing actions at its January 28 meeting. Commissioners Larry Mamoli and Donald Wright voted 2-0 on all five items. Project Manager Alyssa Schwab presented amendments increasing the owner's project manager contract with P3 Incorporated by $376,500 and the design contract with KBA by $696,660 for window-and-door replacement projects at the Gardner Pilot Academy in Allston and the Linden Pilot School in West Roxbury, both tied to the 2024 Massachusetts School Building Authority Accelerated Repair Program. The commission also granted a third 12-month extension of the tentative developer designation for Volney Capital LLC at three city-owned parcels on Washington Street in Dorchester, where Volney proposes 48 rental units including 41 affordable, a ground-floor commercial space, and a $250,000 acquisition payment to the city; Wright said he hoped "we don't have to go through another extension period." The commission also approved the conveyance of a long-vacant Mattapan parcel on Regis Road to Ziv and Drake for $62,500, with an open-space deed restriction requiring the buyers to maintain mature trees on the lot.
