Boston PFC Approves Roxbury Housing Conveyance and $225,000 Foreclosure Prevention Grant

BOSTON — July 18, 2026 — Boston Public Facilities Commission approves $225,000 foreclosure grant and Roxbury land conveyance at July 18 meeting. Chair Catherine Craven and Commissioner Larry Mimoli unanimously approved both items brought by the Mayor's Office of Housing. Christine McCrory, Assistant Director of the Boston Home Center Division, presented the 16th consecutive Chapter 206 grant from the Massachusetts Division of Banks, which will fund free foreclosure counseling through nonprofits Urban Edge, ABCD, Mattapan Family Services, and ESAC; McCrory reported that foreclosure petitions have "doubled since last year" and that the program has already helped 164 homeowners avoid foreclosure this fiscal year. The commission also authorized the transfer of seven Highland Street parcels in Roxbury's Highland Park neighborhood to E Plus Highland LLC at a purchase price of $700, paving the way for 23 limited cooperative housing units — all affordable at or below 60 percent of area median income — after a developer designation that has been in place since 2018.
