Boston City Council Convenes February 4 With Full Quorum, No Business Captured

BOSTON — February 4, 2026 — Boston City Council opened its February 4 session with a full quorum but no legislative business was captured in the available broadcast recording. All 12 councillors answered present at roll call: Braden, Coletta Zapata, Culpepper, Durkan, Fitzgerald, Flynn, Mejia, Vipin, Santana, Weber, and Rowe. The presiding officer, identified only as "Madam President," invoked Rule 42 barring public demonstrations and directed viewers to boston.gov/city-council-tv. Councillor Culpepper — addressed by the chair with the title "Reverend" — introduced guest clergy Reverend Laura Reyes, pastor of the United Baptist Church in Jamaica Plain, to deliver the opening invocation, at which point the available recording ends with no votes or agenda items on the record.
