BOSTON — Watertown upsets Latin Academy 46-36 in the 2020 MIAA Girls North Division III first round. Sophomore Taylor Lambeau posted 22 points, 15 rebounds, and went nine for 10 from the free-throw line to lead the Raiders past the higher-seeded Dragons at Latin Academy High School in Dorchester, matching the 22-point output of Latin Academy star Fiona Mannion, who added 17 rebounds and five assists in what proved to be her final high school game. Watertown head coach Pat Ferdinand, in his 10th season, deployed a box-and-one defense that effectively neutralized Mannion after a dominant first quarter and held Latin Academy to 36 points, well below the Dragons' typical scoring range.
Jordan Bellot fouled out late for Latin Academy, and Ellie Monahan added 10 points for the Raiders off the bench. Mannion, a 2,000-point scorer committed to Division II Adelphi University, ends a career that ranks her among approximately 60 Massachusetts players ever to reach that milestone.
