BOSTON — Latin Academy Dragons defeat Gloucester 77-57 in MIAA Boys North Division II quarterfinals. The Dragons of Dorchester, coached by Dan Bunker, advanced in the 2020 MIAA State Tournament after building a 29-5 run that turned a four-point deficit into a 16-point halftime lead of 33-17. Junior guard Abdullahi Aiden came off the bench to score 21 points and was named the game's MVP, with point guard Mason Lawson contributing 11 assists and seven rebounds.

Gloucester senior Marcus Montanino, the reigning Northeastern Conference MVP, finished with 24 points and 13 rebounds but was held largely in check for the first half as his team committed 10 turnovers before the break. Bunker told sideline reporter Michelle Fenelon that Lawson made Montanino's life "miserable" defensively, and said his team "needs to clean up" giving second chances before the sectional semifinals against either Belmont or Bill Ricca at a neutral site.
