BOSTON — Latin Academy Dragons defeat Tech Boston Bears 72-70 in overtime, snapping the Bears' Boston City League winning streak. The Dragons trailed by six points with under a minute left in overtime before mounting a nine-point run in roughly 47 seconds at Latin Academy High School in Dorchester on Friday night, capping a game that required officials to sort out a technical foul controversy after fans rushed the court at the end of regulation. Sophomore center Osasu Wogarin finished with 18 points and 17 rebounds, while Abdullahi Aydin — the Dragons' leading scorer who does not start — was named MVP after going scoreless in the first half and finishing with 17 points, all in the second half and overtime, including the three-pointer that tied the game at the regulation buzzer.

Coach Dan Bunker said of his players, "Two years ago these guys were eighth and ninth graders, lost by 50 points on their home court. Same group of kids didn't give up on me." Tech Boston senior Shamar Browder led the Bears with 19 points. Latin Academy improves to 12-2 and the loss is Tech Boston's third straight, dropping them to 7-4.
