Boston School Committee to Launch Superintendent Search at February 15 Meeting

BOSTON — July 19, 2026 — Boston officials rallied around Brighton High School's academic turnaround while announcing the formal start of a superintendent search at a February 15 School Committee meeting. Superintendent Mary Cassellius, who announced she will leave at the end of the school year, joined Mayor Wu and School Committee Chair Robinson at Brighton High School, where Principal Bott reported enrollment had grown by more than 100 students above projections and new programs in health careers, biomedical science, entrepreneurship, Spanish, and Arabic have been added.
