Boston PFC Unanimously Approves Six Land Transfers for Housing, Parks, and Schools

BOSTON — July 19, 2026 — Boston Public Facilities Commission approves six MOH land actions covering affordable housing, open space, and a senior center. The commission, with Chair Catherine Craven and Commissioner Larry Momoli voting unanimously on all six items, cleared a $1,499,500 land cost subsidy for MTK Development LLC to build 15 income-restricted homeownership condominiums on five Blue Hill Avenue parcels in Roxbury's Grove Hall neighborhood, selling land appraised at $1.5 million for $500. A second Blue Hill Avenue action designated Mass Liberation Incorporated as tentative developer for the Harriet Tubman Freedom Park — an open-space and community gathering project — at a $999,800 subsidy on land appraised at $1 million. The commission also approved a $400 conveyance of four Dorchester parcels to Urban Guilds Incorporated for a hillside stabilization and food forest project, a $37,000 sale of a Roxbury parcel vacant for 33 years to East Roxbury Development Corporation, and two intercity property transfers: the former Orient Heights public library at 7 Bayswater Street to the Property Management Department for use as a senior center, and a Walker Street parcel in Charlestown to Boston Public Schools for faculty parking and bus turnaround at the Clarence R. Edwards Middle School.
