Boston PFC Unanimously Approves Four Dorchester Developer Designations Under Welcome Home Boston

BOSTON — July 19, 2026 — Boston's Public Facilities Commission unanimously approved four tentative developer designations Saturday for vacant Dorchester parcels under the Welcome Home Boston program, Mayor Michelle Wu's ARPA-funded homeownership initiative. Deputy Director Jessica Boatwright of the Mayor's Office of Housing described the four votes as the first phase of a program targeting 150 city-owned sites identified in a BPDA land audit, with land subsidies dropping each parcel's sale price to $100. Senior Housing Development Officer Antonio Lash presented all four requests: Boston Communities LLC received designation for four Harvard Street parcels at a $400 combined price, yielding 24 affordable units; the African Community Economic Development of New England (ACEDONE) was designated for two Erie and Glenway Street parcels at $200, yielding seven units built to Passive House standards; Norfolk Design and Construction was designated for four Geneva Avenue and McNeil Way parcels at $400, yielding 20 units with eight off-street parking spaces; and Dorchester Design Collaborative LLC was designated for three Norwell Street parcels at $300, yielding 12 Passive House-standard units. All 63 projected units will be deed-restricted at 80 to 100 percent AMI for 30 years. Commissioner Donald Wright singled out MOH staffer Jamie Smith, not on the call, as "a phenomenal" behind-the-scenes organizer of the entire initiative.
