Boston Public Facilities Commission votes unanimously to convey three vacant parcels and extend one lapsed developer designation, all for community open-space use. The commission, led by TT Lee, approved $100 conveyances of an unnumbered Akron Street parcel in Roxbury to Urban Farming Institute Community Land Trust Incorporated for an urban farm, 84 Maple Street in Roxbury to Sonoma Maple Schuyler Tenants Association Incorporated for a newly installed playground and park, and 45 Norfolk Street in Dorchester to Codman Academy Foundation Incorporated for an outdoor classroom and healing garden — the last of which has drawn a $75,000 Grassroots program commitment. The commission also extended by 16 months the tentative developer designation of Mission Hill Health Movement Incorporated for a community garden at 6-8 Gore Street in Roxbury, after a nine-month tax abatement delay and the COVID-19 pandemic prevented the designation from advancing; Legal Advisor T.

Lee confirmed the retroactive extension was legally permissible under commission rules, and DND expects to return for a conveyance vote in September.
