Boston PFC Awards $322,396 in Consultant Contracts for Four School Repair Projects

BOSTON — July 19, 2026 — Boston Public Facilities Commission unanimously approves $322,396 in contracts for school repairs in Roxbury and Dorchester. The commission voted July 19 to award two contracts tied to the 2021 Massachusetts School Building Authority Accelerated Repairs Program covering four Boston public schools. ANSWER Advisory Management LLC received a $51,116 owner's project manager contract for the schematic design phase, and Habib and Associates Incorporated received a $271,280 design and construction administration contract. Project Manager Ellen Gusenick presented both items, noting that decades-old aluminum windows at Boston Day and Evening Academy and the Rafael Hernandez K-8 School have caused repeated spring-balance failures creating unsafe conditions, while William Anderson Upper School in Dorchester is running two boilers approximately 43 years old. Both firms were selected through the MSBA's own competitive procurement process and have prior accelerated repair experience statewide. Construction is projected for summer and early fall of 2024, pending MSBA board approval of schematic design anticipated at the authority's October 26, 2022 meeting.
