Boston PFC Approves Foreclosure Grant, Mattapan Land Sale, and Dorchester Health Center Extension

BOSTON — July 19, 2026 — Boston's Public Facilities Commission unanimously approved three Mayor's Office of Housing items Tuesday, including a $225,000 state foreclosure prevention grant, a $114,000 Mattapan land sale, and a 12-month developer designation extension for a stalled Dorchester health center project. Chair Catherine Craven and Commissioner Larry Momoli voted in favor of all three items without dissent. Christine McCrory, assistant director of the Boston Home Center, said demand for foreclosure counseling is up 51 percent year over year, with 185 homeowners helped to avoid foreclosure so far this fiscal year; the grant — the 15th consecutive award from the Commonwealth's Division of Banks — funds nonprofit partners Urban Edge, ABCD Mattapan Family Service Center, and ESAC. A separate emergency fund has disbursed $823,000 to 89 households. On the Dorchester extension, Senior Development Officer John Feuerbach told commissioners that Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center's timeline had been disrupted by "the changing needs of healthcare facilities due to COVID" and said MOH expects to return for a conveyance vote within 12 months.
