Boston Council Committee Advances $32.6 Million Community Preservation Funding Slate

BOSTON — April 21, 2026 — Boston's City Council committee advanced a $32.6 million Community Preservation Act slate covering 45 projects across the city. Thadine Brown, Director of the Neighborhood Housing Division, and Christine O'Keefe, Director of the Neighborhood Housing Division at the Mayor's Office of Housing, told the committee that 42 of the 45 projects are recommended for full funding, with 50 percent of dollars directed to affordable housing, 25 percent to historic preservation, and 25 percent to open space and recreation. Council approval would push total CPA investment past $260 million since the program launched in 2016, supporting 441 projects. Senior housing commitments this cycle reached approximately $12 million, well above the $4 million set-aside in the annual RFP. The FY27 funding cycle is already open, with an eligibility form deadline of August 30 and a kickoff information session set for May 6.
