Boston Commission Approves $2.46 Million OPM Contract for 26 Court Street Renovation

BOSTON — July 22, 2026 — Boston Public Facilities Commission approves $2.46 million contract to manage 26 Court Street renovation. The commission voted unanimously Tuesday to award an Owner's Project Manager Services contract to Interva Corporation, a state-certified Minority Business Enterprise firm, for the full renovation of the city-owned high-rise at 26 Court Street in Government Center. The contract price of $2,464,209 — including $260,000 for additional services — represents a negotiated fee of 3.06 percent of the project's estimated $72 million construction cost, with a term of 182 weeks. Commissioners Larry Mamoli and Dionne Irish both offered commendations with no substantive questions; Mamoli said, "It's good to see this go out and hopefully be completed in two years." Interva was selected from a field of 12 firms following a qualifications review and remote interview process, and ranked first for its experience with high-rise renovations, constrained urban sites, and Chapter 149A procurements. The building's upper floors have sat vacant since the Boston Public School Department relocated to Nubian Square, and a 2018 partial renovation attempt uncovered mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems "beyond their useful life."
