Acting Mayor Janey Cuts Ribbon at New England Dental Group's Fifth Boston Office

BOSTON — July 22, 2026 — Acting Mayor Kim Janey appeared at a ribbon-cutting for New England Dental Group's new downtown Boston office on July 22, marking the practice's fifth location. Clinical Hygiene Director Jane Carey introduced Janey and described the practice as owned by Dr. Panna Jodi, offering comprehensive in-house dental services including specialists and lab technicians. Janey framed the opening around pandemic health equity, saying that "after 16 months of being behind masks and not having access to good dental hygiene, this is more important now than ever," and praised the location's proximity to MBTA service for downtown workers. No city funding or policy action was announced. Carey notably expressed hope during her introduction that Janey "is also leading in the polls" ahead of that Tuesday's mayoral election.
